St. Michael High School proudly marks its 175th anniversary a legacy that spans nearly two centuries, built on values, vision and a relentless pursuit of excellence in education. This milestone is more than a celebration of years; it is a tribute to the generations of students, teachers, alumni and well-wishers.

Inspiring Generations - For 175 years, St. Michael High School has been a beacon of inspiration. From its founding days, the school has stood as a place where young minds are nurtured with knowledge, discipline and compassion. Through changing times and evolving societies, it has consistently inspired students to dream big, aim high and serve with purpose. Countless alumni have walked through its corridors and gone on to lead, create and give back to society, carrying forward the values instilled in them here.

The Journey of 175 Years

2024

DDG (Dance, Drama, Gymnastics) as subject was introduced for students of Std. V to Std. VIII. These classes are conducted by trained staff.

2023

Introduction of Python for students. Use of Artificial Intelligence tools among teachers.

2022

Physical School back into action after the Pandemic.

2020

The journey of online Teaching began through Google Meet for the academic year 2021-2022.

2018

Introduced Computer Education in the Primary Section a “3D” Computer Room and an E- Library, Language Laboratory.

2014

Interactive learning with a Smart board and a projector in every classroom has been introduced.

1992

Computer Education with its Modern Computer Laboratory was introduced by Msgr. Nelson Mascarenhas.

1978

to 1983, the new building for the Primary section was built by Rev. Fr. Francis Xavier Fernandes.

1940

to 1950 Msgr. George Fernandes was the Vicar. Great progress was made during his time. He added two floors to the school building.

1930

to 1940 Fr. B.F. D’silva, the Vicar built the new school building at the side of the main road.

1923

the school had 153 boys and 78 girls with 12teachers.

1920

to 1930 Bernadino Francisco Mendonca, the Vicar started the high school and rebuilt the classrooms next to the church.

1916

English was introduced as the Medium of Instruction.

1850

St. Michael High School is one of the oldest Institutions of education in Mahim started in 1850 as a small parish school. It was a Portuguese medium school called Escola de Caridade.
